Since the Conservatives took control of the Borough Council we’ve had a new playground at Arrow Valley Country Park along with change of operator at the kiosk and cafe there. Much better.

We’re now on to Phase 2: new cafe and toilets at Morton Stanley Park. Plus extra parking.

We’ve also seen the introduction of Bird scooters ???? and I can confirm over 10,000 rides per month are taking place, reducing carbon locally.

We’ve also done more with the town centre despite the circumstances with COVID such as granting temporary access to the covered market area for a food operation, Hungry Toad who do the best burgers ever. ????

Finishing the pavement in the town centre too, which does improve the overall look and feel.

Not to mention the £25m bid for the Towns Fund that could see us get a new train station and fancy new public square. ☕️

Oh, and we’ve found a solution for the market traders in partnership with the Kingfisher Centre. Our traders and Kingfisher are an absolute credit to the town. Pragmatism and cooperation won the day.

These are just a few examples of improvements in recent years. Can’t wait for COVID to officially do one so we can get back to the work of releasing the potential of our town.
