Worcestershire County Council continues to demonstrate its commitment to Active Travel with the opening of vastly improved walking and cycling provision along the Southern Link Road route in Worcester. The car lanes opened days beforehand and it’s now time to open up the pedestrian and cycling parts too.
I was pleased to support my colleague Councillor Marc Bayliss whose portfolio the Southern Link Road falls under. He has supported this massive project from start to finish and it is yet another great example of the council investing in the roads and active travel as part of a record of delivery.
The local cycling community in Worcester spontaneously suggested a get together on social media, and we were very happy to go with their suggestion. The sun shone and it was great to see so many happy cyclists both younger and older. Thank you to them for this wonderful photo op and for putting on an occasion for us all to meet and chat.
I also got to check out a good looking eBike that was sturdy and reasonably priced. The technology is really coming along.
